Strategic cooperation between ALPI and EGE-University Izmir

Faculty Electrical Enineering and Electronics

ALPI and EGE-University Izmir

The EGE-University, as one of the leading universities in Turkey with over 50,000 students, decides to use Caneco software solutions in future in their lectures and exams on network calculation.

Dr. Kaşıkçı, professor of electrical engineering in at the EGE-University, who also works as a lecturer at the Biberach University of Applied Sciences in Germany, had campaigned to make this well-known software available to the students. This was preceded by extensive analyses, personal experience and discussions with the managing director of ALPI GmbH, Ilker Güler.

Since the main focus of the lectures is on “network calculation and analysis”, Professor Kaşıkçı turned to what he considered to be the best provider of network calculation software. As a professor of electrical engineering with a doctorate, an expert in standards and regenerative energies, a lecturer for the VDE and a scientific consultant, he is convinced of the importance of preparing electrical engineering students as best as possible for the job market.

And that includes mastering the best software solutions. A software that is manufacturer-independent and offers a network calculation with advanced functions: short-circuit current and voltage drop calculations, selectivity analyzes and earth protection, to name just a few important functions.

In order to be able to bring this closer to the teachers and students, the software suite was first installed on site in Izmir by ALPI employees at 30 IT workstations, in order to then set up different, jointly defined variants and thus train the functionalities of the electrical planning software.

In the future, students will work regularly with the software and their mastery will also be tested in exams. From ALPI's point of view, the students have already earned top marks for their open-mindedness and curiosity.
